Our Story

Ciro Pizza Cafe was established in 1997 by Ciro Pappalardo and his financing partner and brother-in-law, John Piscopo. Ciro has worked in the restaurant business since immigrating to the United States from Naples, Italy in 1962. John, a third-generation Staten Islander, left a 16-year career on Wall Street to become a full-time operator at Ciro's.

A Family of Pizzaioli

Ciro's brothers established Joe & Pat's Pizzeria, today considered one of Staten Island's most renowned pizzerias. Ciro learned the value of preparing food with the finest and freshest ingredients — the same approach that built a loyal following at Ciro Pizza Cafe.

Ciro and John have since partnered with Ciro's brother Gennaro and Ciro's son Casey to open a Joe and Pats in Manhattan at 168 1st Ave (joeandpatsnyc.com).
